How do you start your day? Once you open your eyes, do you grab your cell phone? Do you pray? Do you stretch or drink water? What are the first things you do upon waking up?
A Dinacharya is a morning ritual or daily routine that is one of the most powerful practices in Ayurveda. One of the first things I do during an Ayurveda consult is to help clients create a Dinacharya!
The “old me” use to start my day hitting the ground running! I’d wake up, grab my phone to check for new emails and sometimes even start replying back to them before getting out my bed! I’d sometimes skip breakfast and forget to take my vitamin supplements in the morning. I didn’t make time to meditate or set intentions for my day.
It was no wonder my day would sometimes feel chaotic, stressful, overwhelming and imbalanced!
Now, no matter if I’m home or traveling, I have a consistent Dinacharya that I practice regardless of the season. I’ll talk more about that later. For now, read below!
