One of my dreams is finally coming true!
I am headed to Kerala, India for my first yoga spiritual pilgrimage!
This year, I will be completing my 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training certification in Prana Flow Yoga.
Prana Flow is a new style of yoga, which I’ve been studying with Shiva Rea in Venice Beach, California over the last two years. After all is said in done, I will be able to offer 3 different styles of yoga to students: Hatha, Sivananda and Prana Flow Vinyasa.
Me and my root teacher, the world renowned Shiva Rea at the start of my Prana Flow yoga teacher training certification. (Venice Beach, CA)
During my travels, I will also have an opportunity to study more about Ayurveda (the healing science of yoga) and Kalari, a south Indian martial art, which began in Kerala, India.
I’ve always felt it was important for me to go to India where the roots of yoga and Ayurveda began thousands of years ago. These healing arts and techniques have been around for centuries. It is truly a humbling honor and privilege to be able to visit India and study yoga and Ayurveda. India is the land where the sages and yogis cultivated their yoga practices over many centuries, passing it down to various teachers and sharing the wisdom of yoga with millions of people throughout the world. I am honored to be part of those lineages of teachers and students.
My first yoga teacher training with Vastu Yoga (Florida, 2009)
I want to thank Lorrie Conglose and Lal Maharajh, who were my root Hatha/Sivananda yoga teachers at Vastu Yoga in Florida. It was with them I completed my first ever yoga teacher training in 2009. I remember they had an opportunity to visit northern India during our training. They came back and told us stories about all the adventures they experienced in Rishikesh. They stayed in the Sivananda ashram. I knew in those moments that I HAD to get to India as part of my yoga studies. This journey has been a long time coming!
There will be several legs to this trip because getting all the way to India from the U.S. is NO easy task! I couldn’t bear sitting on a plane for 22 hours straight, so I will have to stop through other countries on the way there and back. This is quite the adventure! More on that later…but my travels will take me far and wide before I return home.
I will be posting photos, videos and updates about my trip through my website, as well as through social media.

Once I return from India I will start offering online yoga, ayurveda and healthy living classes and programs. In order to touch as many people as I can, some content will be complimentary. However, for those people who want to make more of a commitment to creating a healthy lifestyle program and work closer with me, I will offer more extensive programs online and in-person for a reasonable fee. I want to share everything I have learned in India and during my trainings with all my readers through blogs, videos, classes and more! I will also begin my in person and online Ayurveda consultations starting in 2016. Read here to learn more about Ayurveda.
Please send positive travel blessings and energy! I’ve been working on getting to India for the last six years, but the timing and the logistics never quite added up. Now, everything has come into divine order and I’m so thankful God has blessed me with this opportunity! (insert squealing sounds) I tell you this story to encourage everyone to hold onto your dreams, keep moving in the direction you want to go in life and know that a “delay is not a denial. What is “for you” will always happen right when it needs to in your life! Trust and believe the universe and that divine force are ALWAYS conspiring for your best and highest good!
