“Finding an excellent yoga teacher can be an intriguing process. Finding the RIGHT one can be monumental in changing your life in a myriad of ways. As a health educator and chiropractor for over 16 years, as well as a yoga teacher myself, I know it’s essential for a great yoga teacher to have knowledge of the body, mind, spirit. It is also important to find a teacher that can be present, and come from the heart with pure intent. In addition, to being able to make all students feel welcome and safe at whatever their level or ability, Robyn is also able to meet the needs of her students, which is paramount. Robyn is all this and much more!
Courageous, spiritual, compassionate and an awesome “manifester” are just a few words that can describe Robyn. She has a beautiful spirit and I am blessed by knowing her. I have complete confidence and total trust in her abilities as a teacher. As I often say, “Robyn is in the zone” when she meditates or practices yoga, I have witnessed it many times. I would definitely suggest experiencing a yoga class with Robyn. When a person practices yoga with Robyn, they will be taken on a journey that amazes them beyond what they could imagine. Namaste.”

“Robyn is one of the best instructors I have ever had. She truly cares about her students and strives to personalize the class to meet her students’ needs. Robyn’s classes set a good foundation and are effective for any level student. She always provides several options for poses, and she reminds students to only practice what feels right for them, so there is no pressure to do more than what is comfortable. Robyn talks through each pose in detail, which is so helpful to any yogi, especially a newbie!
It’s apparent that Robyn truly cares about her students. She offers several variations to poses and stresses that it’s important we listen to our bodies instead of pushing ourselves beyond our limits. She’s more detailed in explaining the steps to get in and out of poses, which I appreciate. I find that many yoga classes are taught at a pace that is too fast for me, but Robyn’s classes are perfectly paced.
Since attending Robyn’s classes, I have become more serious about deepening my own personal yoga practice. I’ve gained more clarity and peace in my life. I feel better equipped to handle stress as well. I appreciate her attention and willingness to answer questions. She truly cares about her students and it shows! The pace and flow of the class is exactly what I prefer. I love leaving her classes feeling relaxed yet energized.”

“I have been taking Robyn’s yoga classes for months now. She has really assisted me in my yoga journey. I am still a beginner, but I already feel the changes in my body, and awareness. I love her classes and have followed her from Northlake to North Druid Hills in Atlanta. It is rare to find African-American yoga instructors and it is just a comforting feeling to have her as a teacher. Thank you!”

“I had heard of yoga a long time ago and always wanted to try it. When I attended Robyn’s class in the Bay Area, I felt so lucky to have her as an instructor. She is a very nice, gentle and easygoing instructor, always teaching with loving smiles. Robyn is a good listener. She would answer every question I raised and supported me in every pose.
Robyn uses special methods and techniques to open up your heart chakra and incorporates music, crystals and affirmations into her class. After practicing yoga, there is a peace and harmony that surrounded me, which was a wonderful feeling to have at the start of my day.”

“Robyn’s knows how to give students a gentle push for them to do their best. She makes me feel that what are considered “hard poses” are easier then it looks. Robyn is always giving me encouragement to take my practice to a deeper level, but at my own pace. Robyn has a true passion for yoga and understands the spiritual, physical, emotional and mental aspects of the practice. She has many years of experience with her own personal practice and has a solid foundation in Hatha yoga. Robyn also understands the importance of continuing to hone her teaching skills. She continues to expand her knowledge on topics, such as yoga anatomy, yogic philosophy and meditation.”

“While pursuing my doctoral degree at Georgia Tech and training hard for the 2012 Collegiate National Championships, I developed a sharp abdominal pain that was slowing my running down severely. After finishing 4th at the Nationals that year, I started visiting all kinds of specialists, from the varsity team sports-med physicians to GI docs, gynecologists, physical therapists and pain specialists. I went through all sorts of exams (blood tests, colonoscopies, ultrasounds, CT scans, MRI’s you name it)! Everything was crystal clean.”
The pain had started as sharp and acute when I was racing-initially we thought it was just a running stitch. Within months, it started getting me every time I was running interval sessions, then every time I was increasing my pace or my distance in my weekly miles, then eventually the pain immobilized me so that I could not jog 100 yards!!!
It took a very skilled massage therapist about 6 months of weekly myofascial release to make me able to get back on the road. Almost after two years of the first pain onset, in February 2014, I was able to run again but still, I was not able to race. The pain would creep in. By that time, we knew that the pain was originating in my psoas. An old scar tissue and/or adhesions had developed over the years and they were limiting my psoas capacity to sustain any challenging muscular demand.
In April 2014 my massage therapist and coach decided I should start practicing yoga. That was when I met Robyn. A lot of elite endurance or weight-lifting athletes have a misconception of yoga. Oftentimes, we consider yoga as a form of exercise for people who do not want to train hard or people who think they train hard or just people who want to buy cute clothes. I was one of them. Robyn changed this misconception completely.
Robyn’s classes helped me find my hidden balance. They gave me the missing piece of my rehab process. It sounds really strange but even after my first session, I felt more grounded, flexible, more relaxed and somehow more peaceful. Robyn’s classes focus on a great combination of breathing, long-stand stretching and relaxation techniques. The poses have a great sequence that complete smaller or bigger cycles. And believe it or not, the poses are not easy. Like most athletes, I like to be challenged and Robyn challenged me with the right amount! With Robyn’s yoga, my myofascial release massage sessions started to last longer, and instead of weekly sessions, I am now having them biweekly. Soon enough the massages will be needed once a month or even less often.
Yoga is now part of my weekly routine and I am grateful of the benefits it has provided me. I am looking forward to start racing again! Thank you Robyn!”

Robyn with Tawana S., Georgia
“Wow…is my response after experiencing Robyn’s yoga class. I know Robyn from when we both were youngsters growing up in Chicago. Robyn is one of my sister’s childhood friends and we connected on Facebook! After watching her journey to Indonesia and her evolution process I certainly didn’t want to miss an opportunity to connect with such authenticity! I was in Atlanta for a business trip and felt compelled to contact her about her available classes that week.
I’ve “done” yoga for several years as a part of my exercise program. However, I must say that as the result of attending Robyn’s class, I became more open to the spiritual aspect of yoga. As “fate” would have it, her class was occurring at a perfect time for me to attend. I brought along a friend and both of our experiences were phenomenal. There weren’t bright lights falling, but there was PEACE, and isn’t that what it’s all about? We both actually felt the difference of being guided through Robyn’s class. It wasn’t just about the exercise itself or your “own personal” meditation. We both sensed the peace that Robyn was sharing with us as the result of her own “overflow of peace”. The presence was in the room and each person in the class was a part of that experience.
I no longer look at yoga the same. I’ve actually started reading a few magazines about yoga, and I’m intrigued more about the spiritual connection than just what it does for my body physically. I’m looking forward to the expansion of Robyn’s practice, and when I’m in the area, I will definitely stop by again. Thanks Robyn for sharing your gift with the world, and more importantly thanks for sharing it with me! It was a seed well planted!” – Tawana

“Robyn has a keen eye for each student’s ability, yoga-wise. She knows how to adjust poses for each student’s level, but then also, teaches you a bit more. I find her presence soothing and her classes are relaxed, yet intense at the same time.”
Suchi Vatturi, Yoga Instructor, West Palm Beach, FL
“I have known Robyn since my yoga teacher training days. I have always seen a light in her yoga practice. I have attended many of her classes. She is a wonderful yoga teacher, who is very personable and approachable.
Robyn’s yoga classes match all levels whether a person is a beginner or an advanced practitioner. I recommend anyone who is interested in yoga to check out her class. It has been a pleasure practicing yoga with Robyn.”
Dawn Sissing-McGee, Durban, South Africa and Bangkok, Thailand
“I took Robyn’s yoga class when we were both living overseas in Indonesia. Robyn was a professional, attentive and knowledgeable yoga teacher. I was in need of some much needed calm, quiet and peace, the class delivered all of those things and more. I had not practiced yoga in awhile, but Robyn made me feel comfortable and confident about practicing again. I appreciate the time we spent practicing together. I felt refreshed afterwards and found Robyn’s teaching delightful!”
